Polyurethane (PU) weighing bellows offer flexible, durable, and hygienic connections for weighing and dosing applications. Ideal for industries like food, pharmaceutical, and chemicals, they ensure accurate weight readings by reducing vibration and mechanical stress. Customizable in size, material, and design, these bellows provide excellent resistance to wear, chemicals, and cleaning agents.
PU weighing bellows come in different variations and can be customized according to your needs.

Loss-in-Weight Feeders assemble a feeding device, a weighing system, and a control system together to produce a gravimetric feeder. This feeder accurately doses or weigh bulk powders and ingredients into specific flow rates or batches. Material flowing from the weighing device is weighed and adjusted continuously so that the weight loss per unit time matches the required values.
Filcoflex polyurethane weighing bellows serve an important function in loss-in-weight feeders. Once incorporated into the system, it prevents vibration or movement from influencing the accuracy of the weighing equipment. This ability reduces stress in the system and increases the machine’s service life.

Polyurethane materials are tested in compliance with ATEX regulations. ATEX, or Atmosphères Explosives, is a European Union directive that places requirements for equipment intended for use in environments with explosive hazards. This promotes both workplace and employee safety.
Explosion resistance is the ability of PU flexible sleeves to withstand increase in pressure in case of explosion. PU sleeves scored between 1 to 1.5 bar, with some outliers scoring as high as 2 bars.
On the other hand, electrostatic properties testing measured the ability of the PU sleeves to charge and cause powder explosion. Results showed that PU material cannot charge enough to produce an explosion in powders with minimum ignition energy (MIE) higher than 1 mJ.

Filcoflex silicone weighing bellows are created through a manufacturing technique called compression molding. A predetermined amount of silicone material is placed on a mold and vertically compressed by a hydraulic press. This method makes sure that the silicone fills the mold evenly, producing bellows that fit perfectly into your system.
The translucent silicone material is made from compression-molded silicone rubber (an elastomer of silicon, carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen). More carbon is then incorporated into the base silicone to achieve the electrostatic dissipative properties of the antistatic black version.
We have a traceability program that archives production run samples for up to 7 years after the production date so they can be retested and re-evaluated upon request.
Some of our standard designs may not suit your application. For this, we custom manufacture in-house to make your desired design. In-house manufacturing of tools and products allows us to easily advise on which options we can offer to help address your needs.
It is possible to make bellows that have different diameters or non-aligned inlets and outlets. We can make special lengths, or multiple corrugations.
We can offer extended bellows by welding an extending sleeve to one or both ends. This allows you to use the benefits of our standard tooling but extending these to your required length without any glue or adhesives. If our available diameters do no match your bulk material process, we can customize the right diameter or bellows design.
Rectangular or oval connection shapes are also possible. Transition bellows can also be made from round to rectangular, oval, or any specific shape. In the case of non-aligned tubes, special offset shapes can be made. Bellows with multiple corrugations, harmonica bellows, and many other designs are possible.
Special transition ends can be made where there is a stepped lip that covers the top of the tube on which the bellows is fixed. The inside diameter of the bellows would be the same as the tubing, the inside diameter of the cuffs is as large as the outside tube diameter. This may prevent powder build up on the top of the tube surface.
