PU-UF1

PU-UF1 is a transparent, high-gloss Polyether-based thermoplastic Poly Urethane film developed by Filcoflex B.V. It offers exceptional flexibility and durability properties, which ensures that it does not fracture under constant flexing due to its “no memory” characteristics. The material’s smooth, non-porous surface prevents material degradation and facilitates easy cleaning, including compatibility with Clean-In-Place (CIP) cleaning processes, making PU-UF1 ideal for hygienic applications.

PU-UF1 exhibits excellent abrasion and chemical resistance and maintains integrity over time due to its superior aging resistance. Its thermoplastic properties allow for seamless welding and make it customizable into various shapes and designs.

PU-UF1 can incorporate features such as integrated reinforcement rings, grounding/earthing options and embedded tags (NFC/RFID), enhancing its functionality in complex systems. Its transparency facilitates visual inspection, ensuring maintenance of safety and control in the process. This material combines mechanical strength, chemical resilience, and design versatility, making it a reliable choice for industries requiring stringent hygienic and performance standards.

PU-UF1 is applicable for screening & separation equipment, feeding & dosing systems, bulk handling & storage, conveying & transport systems, processing & thermal equipment, flow control components, air handling systems, and flexible protective components.

[1] ATEX and explosion safety

PU-UF1 has been tested for its electrostatic properties according to the IEC 60093/EN 1149 and TRBS 2153 regulations and has been found ATEX compliant and safe to use in all dust explosion hazardous areas, such as ATEX zones 20, 21, 22.

No propagating brush discharges could be determined. PU-UF1 is non-conductive but safe to use up to a length of 1000mm.

PU-UF1 has also been tested for its explosion shock pressure resistance and found safe to up to an explosion pressure of 1,5 Bar for a length up to 300mm.

[2] Pressure resistance for flexible connectors

The values as shown in the physical properties table, are applicable for temperatures up to 90°C/194°F. These pressures may cause expanded or contracted shapes.
Filcoflex can additionally add reinforcement rings to reduce contraction or expansion of the cylindrical shape.

Weighing applications

PU-UF1 is very suitable for application in high volume weight and applications where the weighing and/or dosing has a required accuracy of over 1kg. If the required accuracy is under 1kg, please contact Filcoflex and explore Weighing Flexible Connections like silicone bellows, Poly Urethane bellows, or sleeves made from PU-UF03 or PTFE 310 fabric materials.
