Production Methods

Filcoflex uses five core manufacturing methods

When manufacturing our flexible connectors, we keep in mind the harsh conditions they need to perform in.

We developed and perfected our production process to give you the strongest flexible connectors available in the market.

These production techniques and methods are results of over thirty years of attention to detail and our mission to provide you with products that improve hygiene, promote workplace safety, and reduce your factory downtime.

High Frequency Welding
Plastic sheets are joined together by pressure and heat generated from electromagnetic waves. This lets the molecules from both sheets to create a new bond that is as strong as the original material.
Thermoforming
Polyurethane plastic is heated until it is elastic enough to be shaped using vacuum air pressure. Because the material is evenly heated, this produces a connector that consistently have no weak points.
Compression Molding
This method is used for elastomers like silicone and rubber. The material is put inside a mold and compressed by a hydraulic press. The pressure makes sure that the material takes the shape of the mold seamlessly.
Filtered Hot Air
Hot air is used to remove the flexible material in the thermoforming machine while it is still warm. This method is used to make sure that the material undergoes no changes due to handling.
Silver Alloy Heat Contact
Silver is a highly conductive metal and is used to weld plastic materials because of its even heat distribution. This is one of the primary methods used to join polyurethane sheets.

Making your flexible
connector in 4 steps

01

We design a flexible
connector for you

Once we hear about your needs, we get to work! Our engineers design the best option for you. If you approve, we create a production order.

02

We cut, mould, and weld

Flexibles and metal parts are prepared. We know that this is not one-size-fits-all. Parts are measured into proper sizes and configurations.

03

We create with expert technique

During the production process, our experienced workers make the flexible connector using methods fit for the design and material.

04

We make sure you get the best

Every finished product goes through strict inspection before shipping to make sure that it passes our standards.

FAQs

No. While our sheets are carefully formulated with our suppliers, our testing in food contact safety and explosion testing are done using end products made with our production methods and knowledge. Any sale of sheet materials can lead to buyers manufacturing their own flexibles without Filcoflex's expertise, therefore leading to high risk and inferior end products.
No. Filcoflex is focused on manufacturing end products from sheet materials and not the sheet materials themselves.
Each production method is unique. They depend on the material used for the flexible connector. We use the most suitable method for every design and meterial.
