Weighing and Dosing

Equipment such as loss-in-weight feeders are used to dose or weigh bulk powders into specific flow rates or batches. Accuracy of results are oftentimes affected by movement or vibration coming from upstream, causing irrecoverable losses.

ATEX and Explosive environments

When transporting powders, particles may get electrically charged and cause an explosion.

Flexible connections must not tear until the system can compensate and vent it out.

Industrial Sifters & Sieves

Constant vibration and movement from sifters and sieves causes leaks and tears to form in flexible sleeves. This can lead to increased safety risks, product loss, and contamination.

Clean-in-place (CIP)

Equipment and pipes are cleaned without disassembly under CIP. CIP uses common cleaning chemicals such as nitric acid and caustic soda. These chemicals may degrade certain components at higher concentrations.

Metal Detectors

Metal detectable products are commonly used in food production environments to monitor parts that can contaminate the supply chain. If a part becomes detached, it will be picked up by a metal detector on the production line, preventing supply chain breakdown and expensive recalls. 

Vacuum

Industrial systems often operate under a slight vacuum which may cause problems when using leaky flexible connections. Vacuum also causes the walls of the flexible sleeve to collapse and impede product flow.

Grain

Grain industry requires explosion safe, food safe, and wear resistant materials. The use of dosing equipment calls for specialized flexible connectors that have little or no impact on the weighing process.

Mining

We use special non-abrasive materials to create dust tight connections for the prevention of product loss when processing raw materials in the mining industry.

Pharmaceutical

Being highly regulated, pharmaceutical manufacturing demands solvent-resistant materials, strict hygiene, food safety, and explosion safety — standards achieved and delivered by Filcoflex connectors.

Coffee

Processing coffee requires accurate conditions. We offer air and gas tight flexible connections made with food safe materials that can withstand high temperatures up to 300ºC.

Paint

PTFE and silicone contamination in paint manufacturing causes the end product to peel off and turn brittle. Our cleanroom production facility can guarantee products are silicone and PTFE-free.

Toner

Toners are made from superfine plastic powders that must not be contaminated by silicone or PTFE. Models can be specially designed to have little or no effect on weighing and/or dosing processes, as well as contamination-free.

Spices

Processing spice involves machines such as sifters and loss-in-weight feeders that require flexible connectors. We offer food safe and ATEX compliant (ATEX zones 20,21 & 22) materials and designs.

Plastic & Recycling

Plastic pellets and granules needs to be transported during manufacturing. Our wear-resistant PTFE and silicone free materials can be used for specially designed connectors that have little or no effect on weighing and dosing equipment.

Infant Formula

Flexible connectors need to meet strict hygiene and safety regulations when used in manufacturing infant formula. Filcoflex carried out extensive testing and certifications to confirm the standards of our products.

Dairy

We offer solvent resistant materials that are safe to use with temperatures over up to 300ºC. Migration testing is also available for some materials.
