Step Bellows

Filcoflex Step Bellows are seamless, flexible connectors designed to join equipment with differing tube diameters and offsets.

Their unique stepped design offers greater flexibility than traditional cylindrical sleeves, making them ideal for applications where force transfer must be prevented, such as in weighing or dosing systems. These bellows can accommodate misaligned or offset piping and are available in various shapes, including conical and rectangular-to-round transitions. Step Bellows are seamless and free from convolutions, welding, or glue. This property makes them suitable for industries with high hygiene standards. They are air- and dust-tight, food contact safe, and available in antistatic versions.

Application

Step bellows are specially made for pipes with offsets and misalignments. In the case of two pipes with different diameters and angles, step bellows can seamlessly provide a secure and tight connection with the help of stainless steel hoseclamps.

We can manufacture Step Bellows in different shapes and configurations such as:

Upon request, we can also create a special connector according to your specifications.

Dimensions

Step Bellows can be made seamlessly in diameters starting from 60mm up to 350mm. Larger diameters are also possible, but this requires the flexible connector to be welded in several parts.

We offer the Step Bellows in the following materials:

Thermoplastic
Explosion Safe Polyurethane with ATEX declaration
Mipolan PVC honey Yellow
PVC transparent

Silicone white, translucent, or black antistatic versions are also available as casted products. However, this can only be produced in orders of 50 pieces and upwards. The customer also handles the tooling cost.

Are all weighing flexible connectors food safe?

Yes. Both materials (polyurethane and silicone rubber) have undergone extensive independent testing. You can view testing results here.

Are flexible connections ATEX compliant?

Application in ATEX zones depend on the material used for the flexible connector. This information can be found in individual product pages or Materials Comparison

Can I order customized weighing flexible connectors?

Yes. Filcoflex has been creating custom solutions for nearly 30 years. Materials and labor for polyurethane connectors are readily available and can be made immediately upon request. With silicone bellows, however, we have a longer lead time of 14 to 20 weeks excluding revisions.
