LFR

LFR is a highly-customizable flexible connection equipped with a pressed on Tri-clamp coupling.

Pressing stainless steel AISI 316L / DIN 1.4404 ferrules on to the flexible sleeve makes the entire connection airtight and gives it a smooth flow profile. The tri-clamp coupling is assembled in the same way as originally intended, with a replaceable gasket and a tri-clamp for quick assembly.
LFR can be used with a 2 bolt clamp or hinged clamp, with wing nuts, hexagon nuts, tool release or lock nuts for employee safety in case of dangerous applications. Such applications apply to when the flexible connection is close to a rotary valve, screw conveyor, butterfly valve, mill or other mechanical equipment. The LFR flexible soft connection is a great addition to the already vast program of the modular tri-clamp tubing system.

Application

The flexible soft sleeve is pressed on to the tri-clamp flanges, allowing us to make the flexible sleeve in a great variety of materials such as thermoplastics, rubbers and silicones in our custom offering. This can be done in thicknesses of 0.3mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm and even 3.0mm. The material for the replaceable gasket ring can be made from a wide range of gasket materials for a variety of applications, this also includes multi-material gaskets such as PTFE with a Viton inner ring. Pressing stainless steel tri-clamp flanges on to the flexible connection / flexible sleeve, makes the entire connection airtight and gives it a smooth flow profile.

The LFR can be used in diverse applications including, but not limited to, weighing and dosing, ATEX, handling foodstuffs, chemical, color, and metal detection.

Options

Earthing Points and Support Ring

Support ring is added to prevent the flexible connector from collapsing on itself, especially when the length of the flexible sleeve is longer. On the other hand, earthing allows electrical current to flow safely to the ground when a system overload occurs. This reduces risk of fire, damage to equipment, and improves employee safety.


Magnets, Sensors, and Switches

To increase safety, we can weld brackets in the flanges where the flexible sleeve is pressed on to where you can mount useful tools, namely, electromagnets, sensors, proximity switches, and grounding/earthing studs.

These tools are used to detect if there is a flexible mounted, electromagnets to keep the flexible in place when the clamp is disassembled and prevent leaks, or to guard operators from mechanical moving parts that are dangerous.


Variations

We can manufacture LFR in different shapes and configurations such as:

Conical, Eccentric, Unparallel flange surfaces, With inner sleeve, Y piece / side branches / T piece, Bellow shape (symmetric and conical asymmetric), reinforcement rings against vacuum and over pressure (also in grounded editions), end cap or blind cover, spiral shaped reinforcement

Upon request, we can also create a special LFR connector according to your specifications.

Materials

We offer the LFR in two standard polyurethane materials: PU-UF03 (0,3mm thickness) and PU-UF3 (1,0mm thickness). For customized orders, please select from the following materials:
