FDM is a flexible connection equipped with a pressed on JACOB coupling, assembled with replaceable gaskets and secured by clamps.

Filcoflex FDM improves your modular Jacob pipework system through its airtight, leak proof, and easy connect design. Producing an FDM connector requires a flexible sleeve to be pressed on to JACOB flanges. This sleeve can be made from materials such as thermoplastics, rubbers, and silicones. Aside from this, FDM can be made with a variety of thicknesses and gasket materials. Because FDM is highly customizable, we can create flexible connectors for many applications, including weighing and dosing techniques, ATEX, foodstuffs, chemical, color, and metal detection.

Application

Modular pipework systems

FDM is created to be incorporated with JACOB tubing systems used by major manufacturers worldwide for bulk goods transport in key industries such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and plastic. JACOB pipework systems are modular in nature and subdivides each section of the system into individual parts which makes it easy to disassemble pipes and joints as needed.

This flexible connector is compatible with other Jacob coupling accessories, such as adapter flanges, clamps, and gaskets. It is also interchangeable with KMH, NORO, and S&W pipework systems.

Options

Magnets, Sensors, and Switches

The flanges pressed onto the flexible allow to weld brackets to mount electromagnets, sensors or proximity switches. This for the safety purpose to detect if there is a flexible mounted. When the clamp is disassembled, electromagnets can keep the flexible in place to prevent leaks or to guard operators from mechanical moving parts that are dangerous. Machines can be switched of when the right electronic precautions are made. Also ground studs / earth studs can be added to the metal press rings on each end.

Flange Surface Finish

Surface Finishes Of the flanges are as described above. Or if you have your own surface requirements we can have that custom made to your specification, such as:Pickled and Passivated Polished, Ra0.4 or Ra 0.8 Finish 2B H2O blasting / Sublimotion / Viwateq Glass Bead Blasted

Dimensions

Jacob is interchangeable with, KMH, NORO, S&W. See sizing guide below for more information. The minimum length is 100mm; there is no maximum length.

Flange Length: 25mm (option) 55mm (standard) Any custom length between 25mm and 200mm.
